To initiate the admission process, return the application form with a $50 one-time application/placement fee. As part of the application process, the prospective student spends a day (or part of a day) visiting the school and, depending on the student's age and grade level, is screened for appropriate placement. On or prior to that day, parents will need to furnish the school with a copy of their child's school records, standardized test scores for the past 3 years and two teacher's recommendations. (Note: PreSchool, PreKindergarten and Kindergarten applicants do not provide records or scores and only need to provide one teacher recommendation.) When an application is received, you will be contacted by the Admission Office to schedule the student visit.
When the applicant's file is complete, the Admission Committee will meet to review the student's school records, teacher observations, and the results of the screening. The family is then notified of the school's admission decision regarding the student.
Admission decisions begin to occur in late-March. The number of students who can be accepted in any year will depend on the spaces available after the return of re-enrollment contracts by current families (and enrollment of siblings of current students) in early April. New students will be accepted until available spaces are filled. Students may be admitted after the start of the school year on a case-by-case basis.
An acceptance letter and enrollment contract are sent to the parents of admitted students after the admission decision has been made. The signed contract and an enrollment deposit of $250 are returned to Rivermont Collegiate. At that time, the student is considered enrolled. If you have any questions regarding the admission procedure, please either E-mail the Admission Office: admission@rvmt.org, or call Cindy Murray at 563-359-1366 x302.
