Mission

Rivermont Collegiate is dedicated to academic excellence and maximizing the potential of each student through a nurturing, stimulating, and structured environment that advances the individual's intellect, character and creativity while guiding the student on a path of life-long learning, prepared to engage fully in his or her local, national, and global communities.

Employment Opportunities

Rivermont Collegiate is a learning community made up of students, teachers, staff, administration, and parents. The academic and administrative professionals are chosen because of their particular talents and expertise. The school is guided by a common mission and shared core values. The mission and values are mirrored in all decisions. As a PS-12 school, Rivermont has a unique opportunity to offer a sequential curricular and co-curricular program beginning in Preschool and ending in Grade 12.

When hiring teaching faculty, we look for the following qualities:

  • A deep knowledge and passion for the academic subject.
  • A love for working with children both inside and outside the classroom.
  • An understanding of how employing a variety of teaching styles is essential in order to be able to reach all students.
  • A strong work ethic.
  • Great communication skills, including those needed to work with parents as partners in the educational process.
  • Flexibility, sense of humor and the ability to work as part of a team. We don't expect everyone to have all the answers all the time, but we do look for a sense of confidence and good judgment, especially in the ability to ask a colleague for advice whenever needed.
